Goodbyes & Transitions.

It has been several months since we have updated our blog! Lately, we have been busy finishing up the school yearbook for printing, assisting with a multi-nation swimming competition hosted at ABC, doing report cards, connecting with students, hosting my parents for a visit, keeping up with day to day life and demands, and chasing around a busy and talkative toddler!

These past few months have been ones of intensive seeking as we have sought the Lord for renewed vision and direction on where He is leading us. We have decided that after this school year ends in June we will not be returning to ABC for another term. We will be traveling back to the States this summer in order to have Baby V 2.0, and then we feel like our family is in need of a furlough time from the mission field. We don’t feel like our time overseas is done, but for the time being we will be in the States!

When looking back over the past three years in Malawi, we are humbled and blessed to see the ways that the Lord has grown and stretched our family…both figuratively and literally! We came in 2015 as a couple with no kids, excited, but completely unsure of what the Lord had for us in overseas missions. Three years later, we are leaving as (almost!) a family of four, and we feel much more clear about what the Lord has called us to in ministry and life. He has taught us about community, service, living sacrificially and simply, and solidified in our hearts a passion for developing and mentoring others and training students up in Christian education. We are so thankful for our time in Malawi at ABC, and we are thankful for those that have partnered with us in what the Lord is doing here.

As we head back to the States in June, we are looking forward to some time with family and friends…and of course the arrival of our second baby in July! We have been faced with the reality of flying internationally with a child over 2 though, as we had to buy Norah her own ticket for the first time! Our flights home to have this next baby came to $3,200…if you would be able or willing to help us offset the cost of these tickets we would greatly appreciate it. You can follow this link to help us in this way:

We are excited to continue on this journey that the Lord is leading us on. We know that he will continue to guide us and direct us as we seek to serve him. We will have more updates on where we are heading next coming soon!

Love, the Vaccaros
